'Zynga' branches out from Facebook

Zynga, creator of numerous popular Facebook games, from 'CityVille' to 'Words With Friends', is to launch it's own website to host it's own games and those of third-party game developers.

Although this move will give Zynga some independence from Facebook, Zuckerberg's popular social network will remain vital to the new site; users must use their Facebook ID to get into Zynga's gaming platform and in-game purchases will be made using Facebook credits.

Zynga's co-founder, Mark Pincus, claims that "Zynga will be one of the first sites completely integrated with Facebook".

Zynga.com will give users the oppurtunity to compete against strangers in games; currently, it is only possible to see your own Facebook friends in games.
